Digital Kumbh Museum to become centre of attraction during Mahakumbh 2025

The Uttar Pradesh government is making extensive preparations for ‘Mahakumbh 2025.’ The Tourism Department is engaged in the development of tourism sites, and the beautification of temples, along with providing public facilities, for the ‘Mahakumbh 2025’, said the state authorities.

In this sequence, the construction of the ‘Digital Kumbh Museum’ is also proposed by the Tourism Department. This digital Kumbh Museum, to be built at a cost of Rs 60 crores, will also serve as an attraction for the devotees coming here.

In addition to showcasing the culture of the country and the state, it will offer insights into the mythological and historical significance of the Kumbh Mela. The tourism department has recently presented this proposal to the chief secretary.

The state officials say that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s intention is to make the Mahakumbh 2025, to be held in Prayagraj, the most divine and grand event ever. As per his vision, all kinds of civic facilities should be accessible to devotees from all over the country and the world coming to Prayagraj, they added.

In a recent meeting, CM Yogi said that the Kumbh Mela in 2025 will be cherished for a very long time by the devotees and that when they leave, they will extol its virtues. The development work in this area is progressing in line with the goals of the Chief Minister.

According to the proposal, the Digital Kumbh Museum will provide people with a modern Kumbh experience as it will be equipped with facilities such as Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), and audio-video rooms. It will also feature various galleries with spiritual themes, including the Spiritual and Kumbh Mela Interpretation Gallery, Samudra Manthan Gallery, and Akhada Gallery.

The museum will provide facilities like a food plaza and souvenir shop, allowing visitors to purchase literature and products related to the Kumbh Mela. Additionally, there will be facilities such as a Cultural Haat (Akshayavat), a museum, a gallery and theatre (Amrit Kalash), and a guest house.

According to the proposed outline of the Digital Kumbh Museum, the three rivers (Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati) will be displayed using three different colors, based on animated fractal geometry and static graphics will also be used.

Following that, the interactive map of Prayagraj will be presented on a large screen in the Interpretation Gallery, which can be explored through touch interactions. Here, along with the history of Prayagraj, information about the modern city will also be provided.

In the Samudra Manthan Gallery, the epic tale of ‘Samudra Manthan’ will be presented through floor projection. The Akhada Gallery will showcase the Akhada culture prevalent in the country. It will have an interactive wall related to Shankaracharya, describing his journey. In the Temporal City, there will be video walls, while in the ‘Triveni Sangam’ there will be a combination of floor, wall, and ceiling.

Regarding the preparations for MahaKumbh 2025, the Tourism Department has proposed various other development works, including the development and beautification of Bharadwaj Ashram, Dwadash Madhav Mandir, Nagvasuki Mandir, Dashashwamedh Mandir, Manakameshwar Mandir, Alopashankari Mandir, Padilla Mahadev Mandir, temples along the Panchkoshi Parikrama Path, Koteshwar Mahadev, and Kalyani Mandir.

Additionally, there are plans for the beautification and construction of Takshak Tirth, temples in the Karachna area, Akshayavat/Saraswati Koop/Patalpuri Mandir, Hanuman Mandir, a floating jetty, and a restaurant. Other works including facade lights at Rahi Ilawart Hotel, the renovation and beautification of 18 new rooms, including the maintenance and beautification of three entrance gates along the main routes for Triveni Darshan are also part of the proposal.

The estimated cost for all these proposals, including the Digital Kumbh Museum, exceeds Rs 170 crore. In addition, there is an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore for various civil works, and Rs 18 crore for facade lighting-related works.

IPL 2023 Bring Saudi Destinations in Focus

IPL 2023 Bring Saudi Destinations in Focus

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) partnership with the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) has created an opportunity for Saudi to showcase its diverse tourism products to IPL’s audience.

Saudi aims to welcome 2 million visitors from India this year and India is expected to become its largest tourism source market by 2030. Saudi support for India’s sports sector is a strong example of market collaboration delivering results.

STA is tapping into this fanbase to boost awareness of Saudi as an exciting new year-round destination for Indian travelers, especially young people. The strategic partnership is broadening how India and Saudi are engaging with similarly overwhelmingly young demographics – with more than half of both populations below the age of 30.

Alongside the IPL partnership, Saudi is easing access for millions of visitors across India, inspiring Indian travelers to explore the authentic home of Arabia. Saudi has opened nine VFS Tasheel offices in different locations across India such as Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore providing practical support to Indian travelers interested in a trip to Saudi.
Indian visitors are eligible for the new Stopover Visa, introduced earlier this year, which will allow passengers traveling to a final destination on SAUDIA or Flynas to visit Saudi for up to 96 hours, which includes a complimentary hotel night for Saudia passengers.

These developments follow the rapid advancements in air connectivity between India and the Kingdom with seven direct carriers in operation – SAUDIA, Flynas, Air India, Air India Express, Indigo Airlines, Spice Jet and Vistara and the recently launched route between Jeddah and Ahmedabad by Indigo airlines which increases the accessibility between the two countries.

Alhasan Aldabbagh, APAC President at Saudi Tourism Authority, said, “Partnerships like the IPL are a key pillar of Saudi’s tourism strategy as they bring fans, athletes, and nations together while sparking curiosity from those that may want to be among the first to visit Saudi as a destination.”

Saudi has a fast-growing love for cricket. In 2020, the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) was set up, managing 16 regional associations in 11 cities, 8,000+ registered players, and 400+ registered clubs, with a total participation of 35,000 in domestic cricket tournaments and championships. The Saudi cricket national team is presently ranked 32nd out of 108 nations in cricket.

The collaboration will not only strengthen Saudi’s commitment to India as an important market but seeks to broaden Saudi’s association with cricket – with the Saudi Vision 2030 plan aiming to increase community participation in sports from 13 per cent to 40 per cent by 2030.

Manali-Leh highway is now open to all

As per the latest news, the Manali-Leh highway is now open to all. After being shut to the general public for months, the road has opened after the BRO cleared the 427 km highway of heavy snow in a record 138 days.

The highway is strategically important as it facilitates the movement of the armed forces and their supplies and wares to forward areas in the Ladakh region, bordering both China and Pakistan, as well as it connects Ladakh to the rest of India.

Reports have it that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has cleared vehicular traffic for Ladakh via Srinagar and Manali in record time, supplementing the benefit of the Atal Tunnel in Himachal

The BRO, with a renewed focus on the early opening of all strategic roads and passes, has been working hard to reduce the closure duration and opening the road earlier than the previous years.

The 439 km Srinagar route opened on March 16 after 68 days, a far cry from the time when the 11,540 fy Zoji La, 100 km from Srinagar, used to remain closed for months. Also, the 427 km Manali-Leh road via the Atal Tunnel opened just recently after 138 days, against May/June earlier.

Reports add that the 16,561 ft Shinku La (pass) on the Nimu-Padam-Darcha (NPD) road opened on Thursday after a gap of 55 days. Early resumption of traffic on these routes will also help forces to space out - instead of pushing it in 3-4 months.

This will also allow trucking of civil and fresh supplies instead of costly air freight, whereas those travelling to Ladakh and guest workers will have a cheaper travel option than the flights, which remain the only means when road connectivity is hampered due to heavy snowfall.

Nok Air To Expand India Operations

Nok Air, which connected Indian city of Hyderabad to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok in February 2023, is quite bullish about the performance of this route. “We have done extensive evaluation and from our perspective, this route has a lot of potential in terms of both direct and connecting traffic. There is a lot of leisure and business travel from Hyderabad to various destinations in Thailand. There are a lot of first-time travellers, students, budget travellers who like to explore the unexplored goodness of Thailand,” Wutthiphum Jurangkool, CEO, Nok Air, told T3.

Explaining further, Jurangkool said that Thailand and India are meant to be closer, and Nok Air will definitely bridge the gap. Before Covid19, Nok Air operated direct flights from Bangkok to Visakhapatnam and Guwahati. “As we focus on the recently launched Bangkok – Hyderabad route, at the backend, we have already identified 3 cities for our expansion, and will evaluate and announce the same at the earliest,” the CEO said adding that India is a preferred market, and Nok Air would like to focus on all segments of travellers, be it leisure, business or students.

On the marketing and promotion in India, he said Nok Air is committed to increase the tourism footprint between Thailand and India. “Nok Air along with our partners in both the countries are promoting the seamless new connection. Our GSA in India – DEX Group helps us in strategic planning, and we will help each other look after all the B2C and B2B segments across India,” he added.

Nok Air has cemented its foot in the domestic market and is a preferred carrier for the masses. The airline recently forayed in the international market and believe that their services will be appreciated and valued, and Nok Air will get a chance to serve passengers from multiple nations.

Replying to a question over Thai Airways already operating from Hyderabad to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok, Jurangkool said Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is one of two international airports serving Bangkok, second to Suvarnabhumi Airport. It has two terminals; Terminal 1 is for international flights, and Terminal 2 is for domestic and regional flights. The terminals are very well inter-connected. Car rentals, rideshares, taxis, shuttles, train rides, and buses are easily available for transport to and from the airport. With so much to offer, DMK City Airport is a preferred choice of travellers as it connects to the CBD in less than 30 minutes by land and rail. We wanted to create an alternate for a wider audience including family travellers, students and backpackers and allow them to explore Thailand at affordable prices.

Western Australia Focuses on High Yielding Travellers from India

Carolyn Turnbull, Managing Director, Tourism Western Australia talks about the strategy for India market

Tourism Western Australia continues to work with key tourism trade partners in India to further promote its diverse product portfolio. Excerpts from interview:

How important is India as a source market for Western Australia (WA)?

India is Western Australia’s fastest growing inbound visitor market and represents an enormous growth opportunity for the state’s visitor economy. Pre-pandemic, India was WA’s ninth largest tourism market by number, with more than 30,000 Indians visiting Western Australia in 2019 and spending more than AU$63 million in Western Australia. It has now grown to become the fourth largest international visitor market with around 24,800 arrivals during March 2022 to February 2023, reflecting a recovery of 80+ per cent of pre-COVID levels.

The huge growth potential of the Indian inbound market is one of many reasons why the Western Australian Government’s mission to India last year was one of its first international trade missions after the pandemic. Led by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism, Roger Cook, I was delighted to join this mission to support reconnecting Western Australia and India and explore new and growing tourism opportunities between our two destinations. I also joined a WA Government delegation led by the Minister for Tourism in March 2023 to attend CAPA India Aviation Summit.

Additionally, Tourism WA has recently upscaled our investment in India with the appointment of international marketing agency T&A Consulting Private Limited, to drive our state’s trade marketing and public relations operations across the country. All of these efforts reflect the importance of the India source market to our state.

You started targeted promotion in India in 2018. Then there was Covid-19 and you returned in 2022. What is your short-to-medium-to-long-term marketing and promotional plan for the India market (including digital marketing)?

Western Australia’s new global tourism brand, ‘Walking On A Dream’, is inspired by our state’s unique Aboriginal culture, and invites travellers to visit WA to explore the attributes that make WA a wondrous and dreamlike place.

With this new brand, Tourism WA continues to target the High Yielding Traveller around the world and in India. High Yielding Travellers have an adventurous spirit and seek authentic experiences beyond the well-known.

Tourism WA’s marketing in India continues to show High Yielding Travellers all the dreamlike experiences available in Western Australia. Tourism WA continues to work with key tourism trade partners, including MakeMyTrip, Thomas Cook, Pick Your Trail, EaseMyTrip, and TBO, to further promote Western Australia through our new global tourism brand.

Tourism WA is also working with key influencers and celebrities from India to showcase the best of Western Australia, including Bollywood Actress Barkha Singh and the Indian Cricket Team, who have highlighted to Indian audiences their incredible experiences in iconic Western Australian locations like the beautiful Rottnest Island. We look forward to continuing to roll out campaigns that reflect our new global tourism brand to drive more consumer and trade interest in our state.

You have taken the cricketing route to promote WA in India with, Adam Gilchrist in 2019 and Brad Hogg in 2022 present during your India roadshows. Do you have any plans to appoint other cricketers as brand ambassadors?

Our vision is for Western Australia to become one of the top event capitals in South East Asia, and WA tourism advocates like Adam Gilchrist and Brad Hogg remain important spokespeople. We were also pleased to be able to work with Australian cricket legend Mitchell Johnson recently on an international campaign encouraging working holiday makers to ‘Come Follow the Sun’ to Western Australia and work and travel across our state.

We know that hosting world-class cricketing events in Western Australia offers a major drawcard for leisure visitors from the Indian market. Last October, when the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup matches took place in Perth, there were almost 20 per cent more arrivals into Western Australia from India than in October 2019.

Do you have any plans to tap the India MICE & corporate segment?

The Western Australian Government recognizes that not only is the business events sector a significant financial contributor to WA, but that Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) events also elevate WA’s reputation as a leading business destination and knowledge centre, by showcasing our facilities and considerable intellectual capital.

In support of the sector, the WA Government has committed $32 million, through Business Events Perth, to be spent over four years from 2022 – 2026 to attract MICE events to our state from all over the world. As many as 108 national and international events have been secured for WA up to 2029, representing $107 million in economic impact for the destination. To ensure that delegates have an exceptional experience in our state, the WA Government has invested millions of dollars into revitalizing the Perth CBD, and in growing accommodation offerings across Perth.

Securing a direct aviation route from India to Western Australia is a key aviation priority for the Western Australian Government, WA Tourism Minister Mr Roger Cook said last year. Has there been any development on this?

India remains WA’s largest international market unserved by a direct air service and securing such a non-stop route between Perth and either Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru or Chennai is Tourism WA’s top aviation priority.

The WA Government, through Tourism WA, continues to work with our valued airline partners to grow our aviation capacity, and with Perth Airport as ‘Team Perth’ to secure a non-stop service between Western Australia and India. I was delighted to meet with key aviation stakeholders at this year’s CAPA India Aviation Summit in New Delhi, to explore flight opportunities and further strengthen the state’s travel and trade relationship with India.

The presentation will bring 2,772 x 1,240 pixels and a 120 Hz revive rate. It will flaunt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 100W quick charging very much like the Reno10 Pro+. Oppo's telephone has this accusing pace matched of a 4,700 mAh battery. The handset likewise brings a 50 MP OIS camera, 64 MP periscope fax, and 8 MP ultrawide shooter. I don't know whether that multitude of specs will be found inside the OnePlus Pro 2 Genius, however it's a decent beginning stage for hypothesis.

The OnePlus Pro 2 Genius ought to cost not exactly the OnePlus 11 in China. For the present, we should hang tight for true data. Up to that point, we should process these specs while taking other factors into consideration. With regards to conceivable worldwide accessibility, the OnePlus Expert Master was sent off as OnePlus 10T beyond China. Thus, almost certainly, Expert 2 Genius will turn into the OnePlus 11T sooner or later in the year.
